Nagpur: A 76-year old woman, who was on morning walk, was robbed of her gold chain by two motorcycle-borne chain-snatchers in the wee hours of Thursday.
The old lady, Maya Vasanta Kamavisadar, resident of Plot No. 9, ‘Vasant Apartment,’ Jaitala, left home for morning walk around 4.25 on Thursday. Maya had hardly covered a distance from her home when the two unidentified muggers, in the age group of 20-22 years, riding a black-coloured motorcycle came near her and snatched the gold chain she was wearing around her neck.
The chain was worth Rs 30,000. Even before Maya could sense something wrong and raise an alarm, the chain-snatchers sped away.
Based on a complaint filed by Maya, the Lady PSI Nafte of Pratap Nagar Police Station has booked the muggers under Sections 392, 34 of IPC and mounted a search to nab them.
