On Amrai Road (The old airport road) , the green forest backside of Sonegaon Lake, The Vrikshit Foundation carried out a major cleanliness drive with the support of 80 dedicated volunteers, collecting 735 kilograms of garbage from an area many never see, but nature suffers in silence.
While this effort made a visible difference, the truth is hard to ignore. Tons of garbage still remain hidden deep inside the jungle and around the lake. It is simply not possible for volunteers alone to clean it all.
What is possible is change.
This beautiful stretch of land- The Aaamrai Road- is not a dumping ground. It is a natural gift, and protecting it starts with one simple act: not littering.
We are grateful to the local corporators who joined us in spreading awareness on-ground, and a big thank you to the volunteers who thoughtfully arranged snacks and refreshments, keeping the team energized throughout the drive.
Cleaning is just one part of the fight …Awareness is the real solution.
