In a heart rending accident a father who had taken his daughter for a ride was hit by a rashly driven truck and the daughter was killed on the spot, while the father died after 4.5 hours while undergoing treatment.
According to sources, the mishap occurred at 9 pm on January 1, 2015. A father identified as Omprakash Sarjuprasad Shahu aged 35 and a resident of house near Shankar Temple, Street No 2, Ramteke Nagar, Nagpur was travelling on his Luna bearing registration No MH-31/B-9288 with his daughter Khushboo aged 6 on the pillion seat towards Rameshwari.
At Shatabdi Square, a rashly driven truck which was travelling at a negligently high speed bearing registration No CG-04/ DB 4248 hit the Luna from the rear. The driver of the ill-fated truck is identified as Rajkumar Manikrao Tembre aged 35 years and a resident of Tiroda, Wadegaon, Gondia.
The daughter died on the spot, while the father who was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) died while undergoing treatment. The Doctors of GMCH declared him dead at 1:20 am of December 2, 2015.
Police Sub Inspector Shejul of Rameshwari Police Station registered a case under sections 279, 338, 304 (A) and 427 of IPC. The driver of the ill-fated truck Rajkumar was also arrested for rash and negligent speeding his truck.
