Nagpur
: Congress candidate from Prabhag 30 Anil Waghmare, who lost the NMC poll in “dramatic” fashion, and five other defeated party candidates have decided to put the election process under trial in a court. Waghmare was leading by 2016 votes in sixth round. But in the 8th and 9th round, the margin narrowed down ‘dramatically’ and the result was he lost the seat by 700 votes.

Waghmare’s demand to allow him enter at the counting centre and recounting of votes was disallowed. He further said that Prabhag 30 comprised 25,000 Muslim voters, 10000 Dalits and 25000 other voters. The winning candidate belonged to BJP and that too an outsider.

The other losing candidates who have decided to move court include Bablu Chikte (Prabhag 26), Pravin Gawre (Prabhag 21), Mona Charole (Prabhag 28) and Ramesh Kanoje (Prabhag 27).
