4-year old boy among two killed in separate road mishaps in Nagpur

Nagpur: Two persons, including a four-year-old boy, were killed in separate road accidents in Nagpur.

In the first incident, a 4-year old boy was killed and his mother sustained injuries after they were knocked down by a four-wheeler in a hit-and-run incident near LOC Square in Nandanvan area on Monday night.

The deceased, Vivan Rupesh Amdare was a resident of Plot No 54-B, Adarsh Nagar, Dighori. Vivan was riding pillion on his mother Karishma’s Honda Activa (MH40/BW-0522) around 8.40 pm. The mother-son duo was returning home from Gandhibagh. A speeding four-wheeler hit their vehicle. Vivan and Karishma (32) fell off the scooter. Vivan suffered grievous injuries and was rushed to Shravan Hospital. During treatment, he succumbed to his injuries.

After recording the statement of Rupesh Suresh Amdare (35), father of the deceased, Nandanvan Police registered a case under Sections 279, 338, 304(A) of the Indian Penal Code, read with Sections 134, 177, 184 of the Indian Penal Code. Further investigations are underway.

In another incident, a 38-year-old man was killed after being hit by an unidentified motor vehicle near Chikhli Bridge in Yashodhara Nagar area late Tuesday night.

Identified as Ashok Hiralal Purohit, the deceased was a resident of Plot No 13, Hiwri Nagar. Ashok and his friend Mohammad Jamir Mohammad Israil Qureshi (43), who runs a decoration business, were returning home on a Honda Activa (MH31/AZ-4275) from Shyam Lawns, Yashodhara Nagar, around 11.30 pm. A speeding motor vehicle hit them at Chikhli Bridge injuring Ashok seriously. The driver fled the spot with the vehicle.

Ashok was taken to Mayo Hospital where the doctors declared him dead. After recording the statement of Mohammad Jamir, a resident of Pravesh Nagar, Yashodhara Nagar Police registered a case under Sections 279, 338, 304(A) of the Indian Penal Code, read with Sections 134, 177, 184 of the Motor Vehicle Act, and initiated an investigation.
