4 killed, five hurt in 3 separate mishaps on Samruddhi Highway

Buldhana: In a tragic incident, four persons were killed and five were injured in three separate mishaps that took place on the Samruddhi Highway near Fardapur toll booth in Mehkar taluka of Buldhana district in the last 24 hours.

The deceased include three from Digras in Deulgaon Raja taluka and one from Uttar Pradesh State. Those injured are from Dhule district. On Channel No 283 on Samruddhi Highway, the three persons, who were returning back from a wedding ceremony from Washim, stopped near Fardapur toll booth for a nature’s call, when a speeding cement mixer truck dashed the three as they were about to board the car. Due to the severe impact of the dash one of them died on the spot and two others died while undergoing treatment at Mehkar Hospital. The accident took place at around 4 am.

The deceased include Vijay Sheshrao Mante (48), Om Mante (20) and Tushar Mante (34). After getting information about the accident, PSI Shailesh Pawar of Fardapur Police and his team immediately reached the spot and rushed the injured to Mehkar Rural Hospital for treatment. But doctors declared all three dead. It may be noted, that other family members had a narrow escape as the cement mixer hit the vehicle of Mante.

The second accident took place on Channel No 274 of Samruddhi Highway on Sunday at around 2 am, when the driver of vehicle (MH-47-Q-7828) lost control over the vehicle. Harshad Shinde, Avinash Shinde and four others were going to Nagpur from Dhule. A total of six people from Dhule who were in this vehicle were injured when the driver lost control. Avinash Shinde was seriously injured. All the injured are being treated at Mehkar Rural Hospital.

In the third accident a truck (UP-50-DT-7181) hit a container (KA-01-AH-6054) from behind as the driver fell asleep, plunging the truck down 30 feets in which the driver died on spot. As per reports, the driver Dineshukmar Tiwari from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh, fell asleep and got trapped in the cabin of his truck. Meanwhile, his truck crashed into the container from behind. Due to the impact of the crash Tiwari’s truck was plunged 30 feet down.
