3 teenage girls go missing in city, one spotted in Raipur

Nagpur: Three teenage girls went missing from different areas in the city and were reportedly kidnapped by unidentified persons. Interestingly, one of the missing girls was spotted at Raipur in Chhattisgarh but her cell phone was found switched off.

A 16-year old girl, resident of Kalamna area, left her home between 5 am and 7 pm on February 8, 2017, without informing her parents. Since then she did not return home and went missing. The girl’s relatives searched her frantically and came to know that she was spotted in Raipur. However, when the relatives called her on her mobile phone, it was found switched off triggering speculations over her whereabouts.

Based on a complaint, Kalamna PSI M Y Gole, following the Supreme Court directives that if a minor girl or boy goes missing then the case be treated that of kidnapping, has registered a case under Section 363 of the IPC and mounted a massive search to trace the girl.

In the second incident, a 15-year old girl, resident of Kalamna, left home around 11.45 am on Monday (February 27) for going to school. But she did return home even after school was over. A search proved futile.

Kalamna PSI S N Sonparate, following the Supreme Court directives, has registered a case under Section 363 of the IPC and searching the girl.

In the Nandanvan incident, a 17-year old girl left her home between 10 pm of Monday and 0125 hours of Tuesday without informing other family members. The panic relatives searched her at all possible places but in vain. Finally, a case was registered at Nandanvan Police Station.

WPSI S D Jaybhaye, as per Supreme Court ruling, has registered a case under Section 363 of the IPC and launched a search to find her.
