Nagpur: Three minor girls, all aged 16, went missing from different areas of the city in the past 24 hours and were reportedly kidnapped by unidentified persons.
The first incident was reported in Kalamna area. A 16-year old girl left home around 8 pm on Sunday for going to place of work. However, she did not return home. The panicky relatives of the girl searched her but could not find her. Finally, a complaint in this regard was registered with police.
Kalamna police constable Prabhakar, as per Supreme Court directive that if a minor boy or girl goes missing then the case be treated as that of kidnapping, has registered a case under Section 363 of the IPC.
In another incident, a resident of Kotwali area, a 16-year old girl left her home around 7.15 am on Monday. She did not return even after a considerable time. The girl’s father suspected an accused named Shubham Kamble (Savadekar), resident of Mahal Killa, could have abducted her.
PSI Lakde, as per Supreme Court directive, has registered a case under Section 363 of the IPC.
Similarly, one more 16-year old girl, resident of Nandanvan area, left home between 9 am and 4.30 pm on Monday without informing her relatives. As she did not return, her relatives filed a complaint with Nandanvan police.
PSI S U Bhaskar, as per Supreme Court directive, has registered a case under Section 363 of the IPC.
Cops of Kalamna, Kotwali and Nandanvan Police Stations have launched search to trace the three minor girls.
