Nagpur: Mahavitaran Company has appointed a 3-member committee to assess the loss of electricity during power distribution and electricity consumed by agriculture-pumps. The committee will submit its detailed report by December 31, 2015.
The state government provides grant to agriculture-pump holders on feasible rate of electricity consumption. But the electricity consumption is shown increased due to surcharge on agriculture-pump and actual power consumption, and it needs a check up in order to decide the total power consumption by agriculture-pump. It is also being alleged over a couple of days that the theft of power is compensated by the loss of power. Thus, the 3-member committee would examine the cause of power loss in detail.
The committee will be headed by Vishwas Pathak and its members are Pratap Hogade (Veej Grahak Sangathan) and Ashish Chandarana. The committe will check up as many as 100 power supply lines to agricultural activities and pumps in terms of power consumed by them.
