Nagpur: In a disturbing incident that has sparked outrage among citizens, three armed youths created terror in the Old Jaripatka area of Nagpur on Saturday night, brazenly roaming the streets while brandishing sharp weapons. A video of the incident, now viral on social media, shows one youth waving a sword and another carrying a dagger, as the trio strutted along Jaripatka Cemetery Road — sending waves of panic among residents.
Shockingly, despite the open display of weapons in a densely populated area, Jaripatka Police claimed they were unaware of the incident until the video surfaced online. The blatant show of lawlessness has left citizens questioning the state of policing in the city.

According to initial suspicions, the trio had arrived in the locality to attack a rival youth over an old dispute. Failing to find their target, they reportedly paraded through the area in an attempt to intimidate residents. The video, widely circulated on social media platforms, shows frightened locals shutting doors and avoiding stepping out.
Following public outrage, the police have now launched a probe into the matter. However, the identities of the three miscreants remain unknown, and no arrests have been made so far.
Residents have strongly condemned the incident, accusing the police of gross negligence and delayed response.
“How can armed youths move freely in a residential area without police knowing anything? This shows a serious lapse in vigilance,” said a local resident.
Others expressed frustration over what they described as a growing trust deficit between citizens and the police, with some claiming that repeated complaints about such miscreants often go unheard.
When contacted, officials from Jaripatka Police Station admitted they had no prior information about the incident but assured that strict action will be taken once the culprits are identified.
