250 banned colleges up against RTMNU

The representatives of the 250 banned colleges held a meeting on October 28, 2013 at Dikshant Sabagruh to chalk out a plan to make a head-away on the Academic Council’s resolution on banned colleges that got passed on October 18.

The management committee members of 250 banned colleges under the guidance of the Academic Council and Management members Dr. Baban Taywade, Mahendra Nimbarte, Adv Abhijeet Wanjari, Girish Pandav and Dr. D.k. Agrawal discussed the Academic Council’s decision of the implementation of the resolution passed by it.

The management members have decided to boycott the 100th convocation of the Nagpur University this year. They are also thinking of passing a “No Confidence Motion” against the RTMNU administration and to approach the Governor on the issue.

The members are also pitching for removing the names of affiliated colleges from the banned list who started the process of recruiting regular teachers. And allow admissions in colleges who are fulfilling the criteria.

Speaking in the meeting Dr. Baban Taywade said that the decision of the Academic Council a decision making body has passed the resolution, which the RTMNU is not implementing citing court directives. The RTMNU on the other hand is not communicating to the court the exact situation. We are not asking to remove the names of the non-affiliated colleges. But the names of the affiliated Colleges who have initiated the process should be removed from the list and admissions be allowed.

In the evening the representatives of the college management met with Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr.Mahesh Yenkie and BCUD Director Dr. Arvind Chaudhary. They made the Pro VC call Vice chancellor Dr. Vilas Sapkal who is in Delhi for some work on telephone. After the discussions the Management Council members asked the Pro-VC to convene a Management Council meeting on October 31 to discuss on this pressing issue. They want a full discussion and university should undertake a proper study on this matter before or taking any decision.

The Management Council has also demanded that the University Legal Advisors Adv Purushottam Patil and Adv Rohit Deo be called in the meeting. The Management Council will request the VC to convene this meeting on October 31.

 

Details of the Dr KC Deshmukh Resolutions– Be it resolved that the list of the affiliated colleges which is captioned as the colleges having less than 50%  admissions and whose names are forwarded to State Government for cancellation of permission of respective course be withdrawn due to:

i)  These courses are still affiliated.

ii) As per section 83(3) (c) of the Act the power to determine the number of students to be admitted is vested with the academic Council.

iii) The  Academic Council while giving the continuation of affiliation has already accepted the number of students admitted in these colleges for that sanctioned courses as no minimum limit was prescribed by the academic council, and those colleges, which are not affiliated their names should not be withdrawn from the list.

 –Be it resolved that if colleges have made the admissions on or before the notified date in these courses then those admissions be regularized and examination of these students be conducted.
