2 women storm Gittikhadan Police Station, abuse & heckle cops; booked

Nagpur: Two women, in an audacious act, stormed Gittikhadan Police Station and abused and manhandled police personnel including women officials and a PSI. The two accused women have been booked but not arrested as yet.

On Tuesday, around 12 noon, the two women Sujata Kamalesh Ambate and Bharti Jaideep Rangari, both residents of Hazari Pahad, stormed the Gittikhadan Police Station and immediately started quarrelling with a man named Gaurav Sudesh Sonavane over an issue. The act of the two accused women stunned the police personnel present in the Police Station. In order to control the situation, a Lady Police Constable Nalini Ramesh Bante (38) tried to prevail upon the fighting women. However, the two women, apparently in an obnoxious mood, started abusing and heckling the woman cop in a menacing manner. As the situation threatened to snowball into a major showoff, the Day Duty Officer PSI S B Danade and other policemen including women officials tried to pacify the two women. But they also got the taste of vicious mood the two accused in the form of choicest abuses and manhandling. After a while, the situation was brought under control.

PSI Danade has booked the two women under Sections 353, 504, 506, 34 of IPC and launched a probe into the matter. The two accused woman have still been arrested.
