2 drunk motorcyclists heckle, threaten API on duty in Indora, arrested

Nagpur: Two drunk motorcycle riders abused and heckled an Assistant Police Inspector (API) and also threatened of thrashing him when the cop initiated action against them. Moreover, the two drunkard accused were brought to police station, they went on a rampage and smashed glasses of a patrol van parked in the premises. Now, both the accused are cooling their heels behind the bars.

The Assistant Police Inspector Madhukar Dhondbaji Tandekar (57), attached to Traffic Branch, Indora, was on duty on Sunday at Indora Square. Around 11.15 am, the two accused Akash Rajkumar Meshram (25) of Bhim Chowk and Amol Pandurang Morey (22) of Nagarjun Colony, Jaripatka, approached the square riding a motorcycle recklessly. When the duo reached the square, Tandekar noticed both the riders under the influence of liquor and demanded papers of motorcycle from them. The two drunkard, instead of producing the papers, started hurling abuses and heckled the cop. As the API initiated action against them for drunk driving with no valid documents of the bike, the accused Akash and Amol threatened the policeman of thrashing him. Not to be cowed down by the threats, Tandekar brought them Jaripatka Police Station for further course of action. But the two drunk accused went on a rampage and smashed glasses of a patrol van parked in the premises. Anyhow the cops overpowered the duo and slapped various offences against them.

API Hanvate has booked the two drunk motorcyclists under Sections 353, 294, 506, 427, 34 of IPC read with Sub-Section 85(1) of Mumbai Prohibition Act and placed them under arrest.
