Two crooks, posing as shampoo salesmen, forcibly entered a house, attacked a 17-year old girl, who was alone at that time and later decamped with gold jewellery worth Rs 1,75,000. The awful incident occurred in posh Friends Colony area of Pratap Nagar at 11.30 am on Wednesday.
According to police, the two unidentified goons, in the age group of 30-35 years, posing as shampoo salesmen reached Dhanashri Hemant Sahare’s house at Plot No. 27, behind Ganesh Temple, Friends Colony, Pratapnagar, at about 11.30 am. At that time Dhanashri was alone in her house. The two accused told Dhanashri that they are salesmen and have come to sell shampoo. But Dhanashri told them that she don’t want any shampoo. However, the accused goons persisted with their demand and asked her to purchase the “very good company’s shampoo.” Dhanashri too resolutely spurned their offer. But she got trapped to the trick of the two accused crooks when they requested for drinking water. As soon as Dhanashri opened the door and turned back to fetch water, the accused followed her and hit her on head with a blunt object. The hit left Dhanashri unconscious. Taking advantage of the situation, the two bogus salesmen broke open an almirah and laid their hands on gold ornaments worth Rs 1,75,000 and vanished from the scene quickly.
Pratapnagar PSI Ghodam booked the two unidentified accused under Sections 392, 34 of the IPC and hunting them.
