Nagpur: An 18-year old rape victim, who was promised marriage by a man, delivered a baby in a hospital in city.
The accused rapist has been identifies as Shubham Krushnaji Sonule (23), resident of Zenda Chowk, Kotwali, Mahal. In July 2017, the accused Shubham doled out promise to the 18-year old girl and established physical relations with her at his residence. However, when the girl became pregnant, the accused left her in the lurch. The rape survivor recently delivered a baby in a hospital. It could not be verified whether it is boy or girl.
Kotwali police constable Najukrao, based on a statement of the victimised girl, booked the accused Shubham Sonule under Section 376 of the IPC read with Sub-Sections 4, 5(J)(2), 8, 10 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 and launched further investigations.
