15-year-old teenaged drowns in a tank meant for swimming pool

: In another tragic incident, a 15-year-old teenager died after falling into the tank dug out for making a swimming pool for the Sports Complex in Sakardhara area in July. The deceased is identified as Avez Khan Tameez Khan aged 15 years and a resident of Harpur Nagar, Near Bada Tajbagh, and Umred Road.

According to Police Sources, Avez Khan the son of Tameez Khan went along with his friends to enjoy swimming in a big tank meant to build a swimming pool in Shyambagh Sports Complex, in Sakhardhara area. However, he slipped and fell into the muddy water and drowned. He was rushed to a private hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.

On receipt of information, the cops from Sakhardhara Police Station rushed to the spot and registered a case of accidental death.

During the course of investigation, the police personnel of Sakhardhara Police Station found that M/s Unit Patel Joint Venture had got the contract of making the swimming pool for the Shyambagh Sports Complex. However, this company left the work after doing the work partially. The company had dug out a big tank for making the swimming pool. With heavy rains, the children living near the spot came to enjoy swimming in that tank. In July, the deceased Avez Khan also came to enjoy swimming in the tank. However, he drowned in the muddy water and died. Sources claimed that the company officials knew that the children come to swim in the tank. In spite of that the company’s officials did not take any preventive steps nor did the company employ any security guard to prevent the children to swim in the tank. It is because of this that Avez Khan died by drowning in the tank.

The Sakhardhara Police has registered a case under Section 304 of Indian Penal Code against the company officials.
