15 booked for duping co-operative society of Rs 50 lakh

Nagpur city which was known for its oranges is being called ‘city of scams/fraud’. Everyday marks a new fraud and a new forgery case. In yet another forgery case, under the jurisdiction of Nandanvan Police Station, cops have booked 15 people, on Friday night.

According to information, Chaitram Apturkar, Chaindbaji Nabhre, Vijay Asole, Chandrabhan Apturkar, Sanjayrao Jadhav, Ramdas Khedikar, Hanumantrao Raut, Parshuram Mungle, Suresh Bagde, Ramkrishna Zingre, Chhaya Tarti, Sarojini Kanhere, Madhuri Monde, Shankarrao Bawane, and Pushpa Raipurkar were working with Chaitanyawadi Urban Co-operative Society (Regd No. 343).

Between April 1, 2006 and March 31, 2008, they misused their powers and duped the society with Rs 50 lakh on the pretext distributing loans. According to information, Chandrabhan Apturkar, took loans on the names of some unknown and non-existing people and submitted fake documents for the loans.

All the 15 accused were booked on a complaint filed by A B Manusmare, Accountant, Vibhagiya Sah Nibandhak Sahkari Sanstha, Nagpur Division. Nandanvan police registered an offence under the Sections 420, 406, 443, 473, 471 of the IPC, informed PI Sunil Jaiswal. Further investigations are under way.
