Nagpur: A woman was killed and her husband injured seriously when the two-wheeler they were riding in was rammed by a speeding bus on Butibori Highway in Hingna area on Tuesday afternoon. The driver of the bus fled the spot fearing angry reaction from nearby people. It could not be verified whether the bus belonged to ST or was private one.
The deceased has been identified as Padma Shende. Her injured husband is Dnyaneshwar Shende (40). Residents of Gittikhadan, the Shende couple was going towards Butibori on their two-wheeler (MP-05/D 7720) on Tuesday afternoon. Midway, as the couple reached near Gavshi-Manapur village on Butibori Highway, a speeding bus rammed their vehicle. The impact left Padma and Dnyaneshwar grievously injured. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital but the doctors pronounced Padma brought dead. Dnyaneshwar is being treated for his injuries.
On being informed, Hingna cops reached the spot and started investigation after registered a case against the unidentified bus driver.
