Vivek Jain succumbs to bullet injuries: Accused Ramjan Shaha nabbed from Amravati

: Unfortunately, the bouncer of Hotel Skylark Vivek Jain, who had received bullet injury on his face, succumbed to his injuries and died on March 17, 2016. The doctors of IGGMC (Mayo) Hospital’s ICU Ward attending on Vivek Jain declared him dead in the afternoon.

While speaking to media personnel, Deputy Commissioner of Police Ranjan Sharma (Crime) said that on Monday night i.e. March 14, 2016, an orchestra singer performing at Hotel Skylark, situated in Central Avenue Road suffered a bullet injury at 11 pm. The accused bouncer Ramzaan had clashed with the orchestra singer Vivek Jain performing on the Sheesha Bar stage in the Skylark Hotel.

During investigation it came to fore that Ramzan Shaha alias Rauf Shah a resident of Motibagh had fired bullets at Vivek Jain. While the accused sped away from the spot after the incident, the injured Vivek Jain was rushed to Mayo Hospital (IGGMC) by some people.

During investigation it also came to fore that the accused was hiding somewhere in Amravati. The sleuths of Nagpur Crime Branch headed by Assistant Police Inspector Pankaj Bondse went to Amravati and nabbed the absconding accused Ramjan Shaha alias Dholwala, who had fired a bullet on Vivek Jain from his paternal aunt’s house in Amravati.

It also came to fore that many other serious offenses including that of murder and looting were registered against the accused Ramjan Shaha.

The entire operation was under the guidance of Commissioner of Police S P Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-III) Abhinash Kumar, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Kotwali area) Bhagat, In-Charge of Tehsil Police Station Police Inspector Santosh Khandekar, Assistant Police Inspector Pankaj Bondse, Head Constable Pramod Meshram, Shiv Prasad, NPC Devidas Ingle, Anil Dubey, Rajendra Yadav, Police Constables Roshan Fukat, Sanjay Barel and Anil Ghule.

Earlier attempt to murder charges were slapped on Ramjan Shaha under Sections 307 of Indian Penal Code and under 3+25 of Arms Act by the Tehsil Police. However, on March 17, 2016, after the death of the victim Vivek Jain, additional charges under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code were added by the Tehsil Police.
