Nagpur: Will you believe it? No. Believe it! The Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Pramod Yevale, the second top boss in Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU), is being deprived of salary since the past four months. Moreover, even if Dr Yevale is paid his salary he will be receiving at least Rs 60,000-70,000 lesser than what he would have got as Principal of a college.
It is learnt that the office of Joint Director of Higher Education Department has told Dr Yevale that since he was Principal of an unaided college he will have to perform duties as Pro-Vice Chancellor in lesser salary. Not to be taken the matter lightly, Dr Yevale has knocked the doors of Nagpur Bench of Hiogh Court and filed a petition in this regard.
Previously, Dr Pramod Yevale was Principal of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Institute situated at Borgaon (Meghe) in Wardha District. He was receiving his salary in the figures of Rs 69,560. However, the total salary was to the tune of around Rs 1.75 lakh including various perks and allowances. However, the day Dr Yevale assumed the post of Pro-Vice Chancellor in RTMNU, the university administration sent his salary fixation proposal to the office of Joint Director of Higher Education Department.
However, the Higher Education Department rejected the proposal with remarks that Dr Yevale is Principal of an unaided college. Thereafter, Dr Yevale requested to fix his salary at what he was receiving as Principal. But this request was also snubbed by the Department. Taken aback by the development, Dr Yevale shot a letter to RTMNU Administration as well but in vain. Finally, he approached the High Court and filed a petition in this connection. At present, Dr Pramod Yevale is not being pain a single penny since the past four months following the salary fixation mess.
