Nagpur: A cyclist and other road users had a lucky escape when a overloaded container truck overturned while negotiating a sharp turn. A cycle of the rider came directly under the truck and was reduced to pieces. However, the cyclist escaped the crush providentially as he noticed the truck overturning in the nick of time.
The Tata container truck (MH 34-/AB 9762), driven by an unidentified driver, was coming from Container Yard near Narendra Nagar Railway Bridge. The truck was apparently overloaded. Driver of the truck while taking a sharp turn could not control the balance that ultimately resulted in the heavy vehicle overturning.
At the time of accident the road was overflowing with traffic but nobody got injured. Some autos were parked near the spot but the truck got toppled a few feet away and thus a major tragedy got averted. On being informed about the mishap a team of policemen reached the spot and were busy in removing the toppled truck from the road although the traffic was not affected. The unidentified driver has been booked under relevant sections and further probe is under.
