Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) the mentor institute of IIM Nagpur has not only declared the short listing criteria for admission to the first batch of PGP 2015-17 at IIM Nagpur but also has launched the website of the first upcoming B school out of the 6 proposed new IIMs.
Out of the 6 proposed new IIMs, only the website of IIM Nagpur has been launched by IIM Ahmedabad proving again that it is the top B school of India. The website specifically mentions all about the proposed beginning of the first batch at IIM Nagpur with proposed fee structure and faculty arrangement from IIM Ahmedabad which is expected to continue till next 3 years, thereby giving the best learning experience of IIM Ahmedabad to the students of IIM Nagpur.
IIM Nagpur website says “Indian Institute of Management Nagpur plans to start the first batch of its Post Graduate Program (PGP) in Management from July 2015. The institute has started groundwork for its activities under the guidance and mentorship of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, one of the top institutes of management in India and the Asia-Pacific. IIMN will be temporarily located within the campus of VNIT, Nagpur till it moves to its own campus (of approx 200 acres) in about 3 years time.”
IIM Nagpur: Asks candidates to confirm interest
IIM Nagpur has sent mail to all the prospective students who registered for IIM Maharashtra in CAT 2014 and have met the shortlisting criteria to confirm their candidature. During this week of May 2015, the CAT 2014 candidates who had applied to PGP at the proposed “IIM In Maharashtra” at the time of CAT 2014 registration and meet IIM Nagpur’s admission criteria, have received communication on their e-mail address provided during CAT 2014 registration.
To ensure that the candidates do not miss out this important e-mail communication, IIM Nagpur has advised these candidates to add the domain “iimnagpur.ac.in” to the safe senders list in the email application(s) they use.
The already registered candidates for IIM Maharashtra in CAT 2014 have been asked to confirm their interest for admission to PGP at IIM Nagpur. It has been considered necessary as in CAT-2014, when candidates applied, they had expressed their interest in “IIM in Maharashtra”. Now, the location is known to be Nagpur. Further, during the time that has passed, many applicants may have already confirmed other options for admissions. Given the relatively short time available for IIM Nagpur admissions, the institute would not like to spend time on people who are no longer interested in IIM Nagpur.
The admission offers in each IIM are independent of others and therefore accepting or rejecting an offer from any other IIM will not affect chances in IIM Nagpur, or vice versa.
IIM Nagpur: 60 seats; shortlisting Criteria
The shortlisting Criteria for eligibility to be considered for admission of 60 candidates for Post Graduate Programme in Management, 2015-17 based on CAT 2014 cut off at IIM Nagpur would be as follows. These candidates will be provided a link where they ‘MUST’ express and reconfirm their desire to pursue their candidature further for the admission to PGP in management at “IIM Nagpur” by May 31, 2015. Candidates not meeting the eligibility criteria will not receive any email.
Please note that eligible candidates who do not reconfirm their interest in admission to IIM Nagpur by May 31, 2015, shall be excluded from being considered for admission to IIM Nagpur for the 2015-17 batch. Criteria for Final Selection of the Candidates for the PGP at IIM Nagpur will be announced shortly.

IIM Nagpur: Fee structure
The tuition fee for IIM Nagpur is going to be around Rs. 10 lakhs for 2 years. IIM Nagpur will share the exact amount and details of breakup will be given in the admission offer. Leading banks routinely offer educational loans at concessional terms as per Govt. of India guidelines for all IIMs including IIM Nagpur.
Faculty from IIM A to teach for 3 years
IIM Ahmedabad will mentor all activities at IIM Nagpur till it moves to its permanent campus (about 3 years later), or IIM Nagpur is able to handle these activities entirely on its own, whichever is earlier. Since recruiting full-time faculty is a fairly long process, during the mentorship period and while IIM Nagpur’s own faculty are recruited, faculty members from IIM Ahmedabad will be delivering courses at IIM Nagpur.
This may include a few visiting faculty selected by IIM Ahmedabad to meet their exacting standards. The overall design, quality and delivery of PGP will be to the standards and with direct involvement of IIM Ahmeadabad. Candidates going to join IIM Nagpur should expect to see some of the best faculty members in the country today.
Single seater room at IIM Nagpur
All students of IIM Nagpur even of the first batch will get single-seater accommodation with spacious rooms and excellent furniture. The hostel is a few hundred metres away from the first year classroom.
