New Delhi/Ahmedabad: A bomb threat at Ahmedabad railway station was received on Thursday evening after which a bomb disposal squad has arrived at the spot. Authorities reportedly received an anonymous letter threatening to carry out a bomb blast at Ahmedabad railway station. The Ahmedabad junction is referred as Kalupur station or Kalupur Terminal by locals as it is situated in Kalupur locality of the city.
Travellers at the Ahmedabad railway station have been moved away from the area following the bomb threat. The bomb detection unit along with sniffer dogs are at the spot to find any suspicious object. The bomb threat comes at a time when Assembly polls are around the corner in Gujarat.
Gujarat will have two-phased polls on December 9 and 14. Counting of votes will be taken up along with that of Himachal Pradesh on December 18.
