with the vision of creating awareness about the responsibility Youth for Democracy, Youth for Development Nagpur Chapter was launched on July, 26, 2014. For any country to grow exponentially the involvement of youth has become critical for the development. With the vision of better India, the Y4D team planned not only to work rigorously at the national level also at the state level. With this vision the “Dream Maharashtra” project has been launched to encour youth across the state to join hands together to create a road map for the state to emerge as one of fastest developing states in the country says the member of Y4D.

The Nagpur Chapter of Y4D consists of young professionals from different fields who have come together to form a bridge between the youth and politics. The team aims to mobilize youth and get them involve by organizing programmes that trigger their intellect and motivate them to actively participate in political and developmental activities. By doing this, Y4D aim to make the city youth more aware informed of the political and governmental activities that influence their lives.

 

Talking to the press one of the members of Y4D and Convener of Nagpur Chapter Poonam Khandelwal said that In the past year, youth across the state worked on multiple platforms including social media, issue-based on-ground campaigns voter awareness programmes and lent support to various causes. The Dream Maharashtra platform is a centralized one that will combine all the work being done by the youth across various platforms. This will incorporate feedback and inputs from the youth and other citizens across state to create a detailed road map for state development.

One of the other member of Y4D said that Y4D chapters have been created in all cities and will hold sessions with intellectuals from various professions to take their inputs on local issues to detail a vision for the state. This vision will be shared with political leadership and will create an agenda for the coming Vidhan Sabha elections in Maharashtra.
