Youths cheated to tune of Rs 85 lakh with promise of Govt jobs

When youths are haunted by unemployment, unscrupulous elements never fail to haunt them. The case registered at Kotwali police station, more than illustrates this.

In last 2 years the accused couple Chandrashekhar Damodhar Dahane, 42, and Monika Chandrashekhar Dahane, 37, both residents of, Plot no. 79, Shilpa Society, Flat no. 301, Padmavati Apartment no. 2, Nagpur took money from the complainant, Shekhar Moreshwar Parate, 37 and other 55 candidates to the tune of Rs 85,03,000/ . The candidates parted with money as the accused had promised them government jobs. Not only that, but the candidates were provided fake government documents by the accused and the candidates were also given emails by breaking government email ID. Thus, all these complainants were cheated, it is alleged.

On the report of the complainants Kotwali police have registered offences under sections 420, 409, 468 and 34 of IPC and section 66 of Information Technology Act. The accused couple is absconding and further investigation is underway.
