Nagpur: In a sensational murder case, a youth was first shot with a pistol near his house and was later attacked with sharp-edged weapon when he was taken to a hospital in an attempt to eliminate him. Kanhan police have arrested one accused while others are still at large.
Kanhan police have informed that Shital alias Mitthu Singh (28) was a social worker and a resident of Khadan, Kanhan. Police said Mitthu lived with his father Gopal Singh in Inder Colony, Khadan. Mitthu was active participant in all the major cultural and religious events organised in the area. On Thursday, some goons were playing cards near Mitthu’s house. He too joined the goons but after sometime, they put up a verbal duel with him. A man, identified as Bhura Yadav, suddenly took out a pistol that he was carrying and shot two bullets in Mitthu’s direction. One of the bullets hit him in chest after which he fell unconscious on the ground.
Assuming that he was dead, the goons ran away from the scene. However, Mitthu’s father Gopal Singh noticed that he was breathing and thus they immediately decided to take him to hospital. Meanwhile, Gopal Singh informed Kanhan and Kamptee police about the incident.
The accused, who were keeping an eye on the whole incident, soon realised that Mitthu was still alive and that he could survive. In order to eliminate Mitthu, they chased the vehicle in which he was being carried. As soon as the van reached Asha Hospital, the accused attacked Mitthu with sharp-edged weapon and continued their assault until they were sure that Mitthu was dead. Those who witnessed the blood bath gripped in fear. API Wange from Kanhan police Station and his team reached the hospital premises and before the accused could escape, they successfully arrested Bhura. Unfortunately, other accused managed to flee the scene.
API Wange informed that Bhura and his accomplices were planning to eliminate Mitthu for many days. On Thursday, they finally got a chance to work their plan. Thus, they invited Mitthu for a play and later put up a quarrel with him. API Wange said, Bhura wanted to establish his dominance in the area and murder was planned in order to work out his plan.
Meanwhile, Mitthu’s father has express suspicion that Bhura had taken ‘supari’ in order kill his son. However, no concrete information has been collected in his angle of the story.
Also, the residents near Mitthu’s house allege that negligence from cops has actually led to the murder of Mitthu. They alleged that there was no cop available with Mitthu when he was being carried to the hospital. And absence of cops had strengthened the intentions of accused.
Cops have registered a case of murder against Bhura and his accomplices and started their investigations. A massive manhunt has been launched to nab the other accused.
