Nagpur: Crime rates in the city are on the rise, with a recent incident shocking the community. A young man was murdered over a verbal altercation, leading to a case being registered at the Wathoda police station. Two youths have been arrested in connection with the crime. The arrested individual has been identified as Sitaram alias Kalya Bablu Wanjari (21) from Suraj Nagar.
Although Wanjari had previously been charged with theft, authorities are still reviewing his criminal record. He had reportedly been threatening another youth from the area, Rajababu alias Raju Sahebrao Gupta (22), with whom he had an ongoing dispute. On Saturday evening, the two clashed again near a lawn in Shailesh Nagar following a verbal spat.
Gupta, accompanied by a minor accomplice, lured Wanjari to a nearby bush and fatally stabbed him. Fearing retaliation if Wanjari survived, the two continued to attack him until he died. After committing the murder, they fled the scene. However, police apprehended them after noticing their blood-stained clothes.
The victim’s body has been sent for postmortem, and further investigation is underway.
