Nagpur: A petty argument turned into bloody consequences for Chavan couple residing in Panchpaoli as their neighbour launched a murderous attack on them with a knife on Tuesday night.
Pachpaoli police have arrested accused Aman Vijay Sonwane (24) under section 326 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) regarding this connection. Whereas Suraj alias Swaminath Krushna Chavhan (38) and his spouse Surekha who sustained deep cuts on neck and head respectively, were rushed to Mayo hospital.
Police sources said Chavan couple had an argument with accused Sonawane on Tuesday evening. Furious over it, Sonawane picked-up fight with the couple at around 9.30pm. Subsequently, a the heated exchanges took a serious turn, when Sonawane attacked the couple with sharp edged weapon. The youth attacked Suraj’s neck. Later, when Surekha tried to intervene into the fight, fumed Sonawane also assaulted her, told police.
Following the complaint of Bhagyashri Mahesh Tarare (26), Pachpaoli police have registered a case. Further probe is underway.
