In a shocking incidence, a youth was arrested for raping a minor girl while his parents were booked for forcing her for an abortion. Nandanvan police is investigating the case.
Police probe revealed that the accused Tarendra Manohar Borkar (20), a resident of Nandanvan slums befriended the 16-year-old victim. Later, the accused forced self on her and raped her on knife point. He then repeatedly had his way with the girl between August 2013 and March 2014. However, the victim conceived after repeated intimate relations with the accused. The girl kept mum fearing the life-threat issued by the accused. When the accused and his parents came to know about the victim’s pregnancy, they forced her to have an abortion. The victim who was heart-broken after the incidence gathered courage and lodged a complaint with Nandanvan police against Tarendra and his parents Manohar Matiram Borkar (50) and Jyotsana Manohar Borkar (45).
Nandanvan police have registered an offence under Sections 376 (2), read with sub sections 6, 10 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 and arrested Tarendra while his parents were booked.
