Young married woman, teenage girl end lives

Nagpur: Three persons including a young married woman and teenage girl ended their lives different areas on Sunday.

In the first incident, 24-year old Madhavi Hariom Prajapati, resident of Shivaji Square, Yashodhara Nagar near Hanuman Temple, was found in flames in her residence around 7 pm on Sunday. She was taken to Mayo Hospital but succumber to her burn injuries at about 8.15 pm while undergoing treatment. It could not be verified whether Madhavi got burned accidentally or set herself ablaze over domestic issues. Prima facie it seems to be a case of self immolation.

On the basis of information, Yashodhara Nagar API R J Bandekar has registered a case of accidental death and launched investigation from all angles.

The second incident was reported from Bajaj Nagar police jurisdiction. A resident of Plot No. 280, Abhyankar Nagar, Komal Sanjay Sarate (17) ended her life by hanging to a ceiling fan with the help of an odhni at her residence around 5.30 pm on Sunday. The exact reason behind Komal taking the extreme step could not be ascertained so far.

Bajaj Nagar PSI Kuthe, on the basis of information provided by the deceased Komal’s father Sanjay Sarate (45), has registered a case of accidental death and investigating the circumstances that could have led the teenager end her life.

In the third incident, Vikas Wamanrao Kakde (33), resident of Plot No 377, Darshan Colony, Nandanvan, committed suicide by hanging to a ceiling fan with the help of a dupatta.

API S P Sonawane has registered a case of accidental death on the basis of information provided by Pandurang Wamanrao Kakde (35).
