Young boy, trying to save friend, attacked murderously by man in Sadar

Nagpur: Trying to save his friend from knife attack proved costly for a 22-year old boy as he himself was assaulted murderously by the quarrelling man in Sadar area on Wednesday. The accused attacker has been arrested.

The trouble started when a juvenile son of the accused Sheikh Salim Sheikh Abdul (35), resident of Plot No. 106, Utkarsha Nirman Building, Mangalwari, Sadar, came in front of vehicle of complainant Sayyed Wajid Sayyed Mukaddar Ali (33) of Shramik Nagar, Pili Nadi.

The petty issue sparked wordy duel between the complainant Sayyed Wajid and accused Sheikh Salim. Later, Sayyed Wajid and his friend Avinash Gangadhar Sahare (22) of Goa Colony, Nagpur were having tea in front of Mangalwari Complex. At the same time, the accused Sheikh Salim Sheikh Abdul and his juvenile son (14-16 years) accosted them and asked Sayyed Wajid as to why he beat up his son.

The accused suddenly whipped out a knife and pointed it towards Sayyed menacingly. Avinash, who was standing beside Sayyed, tried to save from the knife attack but he himself was assaulted by the accused. The accused inflicted stab wounds of Avinash’s neck and stomach with the clear intention of killing him.

Sadar PSI Sonde, acting on a complaint of Sayyed Wajid, booked the accused Sheikh Salim Sheikh Abdul under Sections 307, 294, 34 of IPC and placed him under arrest.
