Nagpur:
A Yavatmal-bound woman was robbed of gold ornaments and cash when she was boarding a bus at Chhatrapati Square here on Thursday night.

The complainant Darshana Manoj Uttarwar (40), native of Jaycees Colony, Ghatanji, Yavatmal District, had come to Nagpur for some domestic work. She was returning to her native place on Thursday. Darshana boarded a bus at Chhatrapati Square around 7.45 pm. However, taking advantage of passenger rush, a con person pilfered gold ornaments including mangalsutra, gold ring and cash of Rs 20,000 from the purse of Darshana. The burglar opened Darshana’s bag slyly and removed the booty worth Rs 1.26 lakh from a small purse. The theft came to notice of Darshana immediately and she raised an alarm also but it was too late as the con person was nowhere to be seen. She aborted travel to Yavatmal and approached Pratapnagar police and lodged a complaint.

PSI Kuthe registered a case under Section 379 of the IPC against the unidentified burglar and searching for him or her.
