Yakub Memon appears for MA Political Science exam

Nagpur News : The chief accused of Bombay Blast series case, Yakub Memon is appearing for his MA Political Science second year exam. He appeared for his first paper on third of June. Interesting, though his mercy appeal has been rejected by the President, he is getting ready to appear for second paper also, which is on 9th June, at Nagpur Central Jail. This will materialise his dream of being an MA in two subjects.

Yakub has been awarded death sentence and is in Nagpur Jail for last twenty years. Supreme Court has recently given temporary stay order on his death sentence.

Yakub is professionally qualified as a Chartered Accountant and had special interest in Political Science. Before this, Yakub has taken his MA degree in English Literature, from open varsity.

In political science exam, his first paper was The European Union of World Affairs. He submitted his answer sheet only in one and half hours, while the time allotted for the paper was 3 hours, said the sources at Central Jail.

In 1993, there were a series of bomb blasts in Mumbai, which took lives of 257 people. Yakub was mastermind behind these blasts. In 1994, he was arrested at Kathmandu Airport, Nepal. In 2007, Yakub was pronounced guilty, by TADA Court and was awarded death sentence. He had made an appeal in Supreme Court against the order of TADA Court.
