Nagpur: The ambitious project of the Y-shape flyover connecting Ramjhula-Srimohini Complex-LIC Square is 90% completed, according to a media report.

The Y-shape flyover from Ramjhula to Srimohini Complex to LIC Square has almost been completed. However, the six-lane road in front of the Nagpur Railway Station is still a dream.

It may be recalled that the proposal for the construction of a flyover by NMC in front of the railway station was approved in the House in the year 2003-04.

175 shops were built here. 160 shops were allotted on a 30-year lease in 2008-09 on a first come first serve basis. But the proposal to build a six-lane road by de-polishing the flyover was passed in NMC House in September 2018.

According to NMC, the re-location of 102 out of 160 shopkeepers has been done. 42 shopkeepers have received compensation while 60 opted for a shop. The matter of the remaining 58 shopkeepers is still stuck. 23 shopkeepers had approached the district court where they lost. After that, they appealed in the High Court. The High Court gave relief to them However senior municipal officials claim that the matter will be resolved soon, the report mentioned.

The remaining 20 shopkeepers came during the lucky draw. But the draw was not held. However, 15 shopkeepers had drawn lots. They are also ready to move to new shops. However, at that time only 11 shops were left. 39 new shops are being constructed by Maha Metro.
