After launching the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro (Review) Xiaomi has officially announced to bring its first Android Go phone in India aka the Redmi Go. Xiaomi has sent out media invites for Redmi Go India launch, which is set for March 19. To recall, the Redmi Go is already available in other markets.

Redmi Go is the first phone from the Chinese smartphone maker to run Google’s Android Go software which means the phone will come bundled with all the streamlined apps like Maps Go, YouTube Go, among others. The Redmi Go comes in funky colours like blue, red, black, and others. We believe the global variant of the Redmi Go will head to India which means the phone will have the same specs as the original model.

As far as the specs are concerned, the Xiaomi Redmi Go comes with a 5-inch HD display with screen resolution of 720p. On the hardware front, the Redmi Go comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon Quad Core processor, paired with up to 1.4GHz. Xiaomi didn’t reveal the name of the processor but rumours suggest that it may be Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset, which is designed mostly for the entry-level phones. To recall, the same processor powered the ‘Desh ka smartphone’ aka the Redmi 5A. The phone comes in one variant with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.
