Women working as domestic help suspected in Rs 5.92 lakh booty theft in Clark Town, booked

Jaripatka cops have booked three domestic help suspecting their involvement in the missing gold ornaments case at the residence of an elderly woman. The theft took place on Friday.

Police sources said Sangeeta Ramswaroop Nagpal (52), a resident of Saundarya Tower, Clark Town, 2ndFloor, needed a domestic help. She informed her sister and the guard of the building. Her sister suggested the names of three persons – Mamta (25), Amrita and a minor girl. On Friday, Amrita completed her work and left the house. However, when Sangeeta checked her almirah she found that cash Rs 3000 and gold jewellery worth Rs 5.9 lakh she had kept there were missing.

She searched the whole house but couldn’t trace the valuables. Later, she lodged a complaint with Jaripatka police and expressed her suspicion over involvement of her domestics helps.

Cops have registered an offence under Sections 380 and 34 o the IPC against all the three women on the basis of doubt and started their investigations.
