Woman, who stopped at busy traffic, relieved of booty worth Rs 1.60 lakh

Nagpur: Stopping at busy traffic proved costly for a Gadchiroli woman as she was relieved of cash, gold and other valuables collectively worth Rs 1.60 lakh.

The 43-year old woman, Yogita Kashinath Sanap, native of Krushi Vigyan Kendra, Munje Road, Gadchiroli, had come to Nagpur for some work. Yogita was proceeding towards Manas Square from Tekdi Ganesh Mandir on her Pleasure moped (MH-31/DJ 4764) around 7.40 pm on Tuesday. When Yogita reached near Goswami Temple, she stopped her vehicle owing to heavy traffic on the road. At the same time, an unidentified boy in the age group of 18-20 years, took the advantage of careless Yogita. The boy slyly lifted her purse from the moped and vanished from the spot. The purse contained important cocuments, cash of Rs 15,000, gold jewellery, mobile, pen drive, hard disc collectively worth Rs 1.60 lakh.

Sitabuldi PSI Shejav, acting on a complaint of Yogita, has registered an offence against the unidentified accused boy under Section 379 of IPC and searching for him.
