Woman robbed of gold booty worth Rs 1.63 lakh while travelling in ST Bus

Nagpur: A Hinganghat-based woman coming to Nagpur for attending brother’s marriage was robbed of gold ornaments worth Rs 1.63 lakh in an ST Bus itself. Cops have launched a hunt to nab three suspected men.

The victim, Purnima Shekhar Kurekar (30), resident of Netaji Ward, Hinghanghat, boarded an ST Bus for going to Kalmeshwar via Nagpur for attending brother’s marriage. Between 2 pm and 4 pm, while Purnima was travelling in the bus, three unidentified men in the age group of 20-30 years diverted her attention and cut open the trolley bag and pilfered gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 1.63 lakh. Pournima was relieved of her valuables between Hinganghat and Rahate Colony Bus Stop in city. The theft came to notice of Pournima when she deboarded the bus and found the trolley bag cut open. She immediately went to Dhantoli Police Station and lodged a complaint in this connection.

The Lady PSI Meshre registered a case under Sections 379, 34 of IPC against the three burglars and mounted a hunt to apprehend them.
