Woman relieved of diamond rings, cash by two maids

Nagpur: An afternoon siesta proved costly for a young woman as she was relieved of two diamond rings and cash collectively valued at Rs 1.51 lakh by two women, working as maids. The incident was reported on March 10. No arrests have been made in this connection.

The victim, Payal Khubchand Chouthani (32), resident of Plot No. 2/3, behind Gomti Hotel, near Saibaba Mandir, Subhan Nagar, kept her two diamond rings and cash of Rs 1000 in purse. Payal kept the purse in Guest Room and went to bedroom for rest around 2.15 pm. Meanwhile, taking the advantage of resting Payal, the two women accused Pushpa Dhanraj Bhanarkar, resident of Bhandewadi and Kavita Satpute, working as maids, emptied the purse of two diamond rings worth Rs 1.50 lakh and cash of Rs 1000 and vanished from the scene. The theft came to notice of Payal when she checked the purse. Suspecting the two women, Payal filed a complaint with Kalamna police.
