Woman killed as auto-rickshaw toppled

Nagpur:  An auto driver lost control over his vehicle and the auto-rickshaw toppled over. One woman was killed on the spot while the other two co-passengers, a mother and her daughter are said to be critical in the road mishap which occurred at around 3:30 am on May 14, 2015.

According to police sources, the deceased woman is identified as Manju Arun Dahiwale aged 34 and a resident of Kamgar Nagar, Kamptee. The critically injured co-passengers include Nanda Ukey aged 50 years and her daughter Pinky Ukey aged 28 years are undergoing treatment at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital.

According to police sources, Manju Arun Dahiwale, Nanda Ukey and her daughter Pinky Ukey who had gone out for catering job at Balaji Lawns and were returning home at 3:30 am in the auto-rickshaw bearing RTO Registration No MH-40 / T-645.

However, the auto-rickshaw toppled over near the small canal on Ranala Road. When the auto-rickshaw toppled over, all the three passengers got injured. Manju Dahiwale died on the spot while Nanda Ukey and Pinky Ukey were critical and were rushed to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital where they are undergoing treatment.

Immediately on receipt of information of the road mishap, the Kamptee police rushed to the spot and have since registered a case of negligence against the auto-rickshaw driver Anil Ganer.
