Nagpur: Jaripatka Police on Wednesday booked a woman constable, her mother and a policeman for allegedly abetting a young gym trainer to commit suicide.
The deceased James alias Prakash Radheshyam Jakhar alias Patrick Joseph (31), a resident of A Block, No 183, Saint Martin Nagar, who was a trainer at Talwalkar Gym near Byramji Town, committed suicide by hanging in his house on Tuesday evening. Preliminary investigations revealed that James allegedly had an affair with woman police constable Bridgette Lalit James. Bridgette, who stays near his house, later started avoiding him. As a result, James allegedly started troubling her. She told a policeman that James was troubling her. The policeman then went to Talwalkars Gym and attacked James with a helmet on Monday. James, who was highly disturbed after he was attacked by the policeman, returned home and took the extreme step.
Jaripatka PSI Dhake acting on a complaint lodged by Elizabeth Radheshyam Jakhar alias Patrick Joseph, has booked besides Bridgette, her mother Jyoti and the unidentified policeman under Sections 306, 34 of IPC for abetting James to end his life. Further investigations are on.
