Woman attacked murderously on a busy road; cops hunt for three assailants

IMG-20150424-WA0042Nagpur: Old rivalry took a worst turn when a middle aged woman was attacked murderously on a busy road on Thursday night. The woman suffered stab injuries on head, chest, back and hand and is reportedly battling for life in a hospital. No arrests have been made in the attack.

The victim woman, identified as Premabai Pandurang Dharwade (52), resident of Ganeshpeth Slums, was returning home around 9.30 pm on her Scooty moped. Midway, the three assailants namely Kirti Hazare, Mayur Alone and Rahul Alone, all residents of same area, stopped Premabai near Maa Durga Travels, in front of Zunka Bhakar Kendra and attacked her with sharp-edged weapons. The accused inflicted deep stab injuries on Premabai’s head, chest, back and hand with clear intention to kill her. The running hostility was apparent cause of the murderous attack. The accused assailants fled the spot leaving Premabai seriously injured. She has been admitted in a hospital.

Ganeshpeth PSI Gadekar, based on a statement of Premabai, has registered offences against the accused Kirti Hazare, Mayur Alone and Rahul Alone under Sections 307, 34 of IPC read with Sub-Section 4+25 of Arms Act and mounted a search to nab them.
