Nagpur: A 28-year-old woman from the Sadar Police Station jurisdiction has filed a complaint against a youth for allegedly issuing death threats and hurling obscene abuses after she stopped communicating with him on Instagram.
According to police sources, the complainant, a resident of the Sadar area, had come into contact with the accused, identified as Himanshu Rajesh Chivande (28), a resident of Bezonbagh, through Instagram in 2023. The two had been in regular contact until recently, when the woman decided to cut off communication.

Following this, the accused allegedly began harassing her by repeatedly calling and messaging. The victim stated that he threatened to kill her and her brother if she refused to resume contact. She also alleged that he used obscene and abusive language during phone calls.
Fed up with the continuous harassment, the woman approached Sadar Police and lodged a formal complaint. Police have registered an offence under relevant sections related to harassment and intimidation and have launched a search to apprehend the accused.
