Winter session of Maharashtra Legislature begins today on a stormy note

The winter session of Maharashtra Legislature began today on a stormy note today as the members of the opposition protested on the steps of Vidhan Bhavan. They were raising issues such as farm loan waiver, free electricity to the drought-affected farmers and reservation. They also created a ruckus at the beginning of the proceedings of the house.

Amid ruckus state finance minister Dipak Kesarkar tabled supplementary demands for the year 2018-19. Three bills were also tabled. After the appeal of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, opposition members returned to their places. Mr Fadnavis paid tributes to Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Vidhan Sabha.

In the upper house of the legislature leader of the house, Chandrakant Patil paid tributes to Vajpayee. The supplementary demands of Rs. 20,326 crore was tabled in both the houses.
