Wildlife Welfare Society volunteers give new lease of life to Python, Cobra in Wathoda, Lihigaon

Nagpur: The volunteers of Wildlife Welfare Society on Sunday rescued a Python (7-8 ft) and a Cobra (5.30 ft) from Wathoda and Lihigaon, new Kamptee.

Earlier, locals had captured a Cobra from the same spot and handed over snake catchers. On Sunday, some found a Python that had reportedly entered the vicinity via sand truck.

Following which, locals alerted Wildlife Welfare Society volunteers Ankit Khalode, Nitish Bhandakkar, Pankaj Badule, Arpit Vitonde and Avinash Khobragade who rescued the Python.

Similarly on Sunday morning, some villagers of Lihigaon had spotted a Cobra at Krishna Bhagat’s field and subsequently alerted Wildlife Welfare Society.

Acting swiftly on the inputs, volunteers Prashant borkar Ketan Deshmukh, and Bablu Mulunde rushed to spot and captured the Cobra in the rescue operation.
