The people’s representatives, in a show-off, tried to cover-up the flop show of Nagpur Municipal Corporation in organising the AIDS Awareness programme with a “grand gesture.”
During the even, a power point presentation was being done by doctors. The sitting arrangement for the common people was made on the ground only. The media persons, covering the event, were also seated on the ground.
Feeling ‘uneasy’ and squirming as well, the people’s representatives who were sitting on chairs on the stage, started descending the stage one by one and sat on the ground itself as a “grand gesture” to the common people and media persons, too.
First, it was Chairman of Standing Committee Sudhir (Bandu) Raut who started the exodus and was promptly followed by MLC Girish Vyas, MLAs Sudhakar Kohale, Sudhakar Deshmukh, Ruling Party Leader in NMC Dayashankar Tiwari, Mayor Pravin Datke, a horde of Corporators and officials.
Usually, the leaders stick to their chairs come what may but the people’s representatives displayed a rarety and humbleness as well here in Kasturchand Park.
