Wasankar Scam: Notice to State over bail plea of Bhagyashree

Nagpur: Bhagyashree Wasankar, who is wife of chief of Wasankar Wealth Management Company Prashant Wasankar, accused of cheating hundreds of investors to the tune of crores of rupees, has filed bail petition in the Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court. The court has issued notice to the State government and directed to file its reply.

On April 28 last, special judge of MPID Act V T Suryavanshi had turned down Bhagyashree Wasankar”s bail plea. She has approched high court against this order. Before this, she had not got anticipatory bail in Supreme Court also.

Bhagyashree and other accused have defrauded nearly 360 investors of over ` 98 crore by promising attractive interest rates.

Bhagyashree transferred funds of Wasankar Wealth Management Company into her personal account and purchased shares of Sikkim Ferro Alloys Company worth ` 5.58 crore. She was director of Paridhi Trading. She had also transferred cash and shares of Paridhi Trading”s account into her personal account. She gave huge amounts to Naresh Chandan, Anil Savarkar, Vilas Bhoyar, Sadoday Investment, Rina Jain, Ratnesh Jain and Avinash Bhute from this account.
