VNIT topper graduates to get chance to teach, Rs 50,000 stipend under ‘Trainee Teacher Programme’

VNIT is organizing a significant and a very unique ‘Trainee Programme’ for its topper Graduates, wherein these students will get an opportunity to teach at VNIT College itself and will receive a hefty a stipend of about Rs 50,000-55,000 per month as well. This ‘Trainee Programme is supported by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). The trainees will get maximum ten posts and will specially be created for this programme. After completion of 3 years as a trainee and completes his or her Ph.D, he/she will be appointed as a regular teacher at the institute.

Faculty from Industry:

Dr. Narendra Chaudhary, Director of VNIT, informed that the institute’s initiative will have at least 25 percent of its faculty from industries. Moreover, as per Kakodkar Commitee’s recommendation, another 10-15 faculty from industries will be added soon.

Campus placements:

Dr. Narendra Chaudhari further said that as of now 84 companies have visited the VNIT for campus placements. 60 percent of the students have been placed. The placements start from September and continue till March. Therefore, more placements are in the pipeline, said Dr Chaudhari.

Paper presentation by Faculty:

More than 60 faculty members and Ph.D/M.Tech students visited abroad for paper presentation and discussion and about 20 more faculty members and Ph.D/ M.Tech students will be visiting abroad in the coming three months. VNIT has been identified as a Centre for Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP). In second phase of TEQIP, the Institute has been sanctioned Rs 12.5 crore and likely to receive about Rs 8 crore by the end of 2014.
