VNIT to organize Short Term Training Program on “Building Sustainability and Retrofitting” on November 28 & 29, 2014

The Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur is actively involved in carrying out research on different aspects of Building Sustainability and Retrofitting issues under the aegis of Nationally reputed agencies like DST, HUDCO, etc.

Sustainable building refers to a structure and use of process that is environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout a building’s life-cycle: from siting to design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation, and demolition. To meet the objective of sustainability special attention needs to be paid on retrofitting strategies for the existing buildings.
In order to share and discuss the experience, technical advancement & constraints, and related significant issues on Building Sustainability and Retrofitting, the Industry Institute Interaction Cell, VNIT, will be organizing two days Training Program on Building Sustainability and Retrofitting” on November 28 & 29, 2014.

The LEED/GRIHA certified consultants and Industry Experts from esteemed organisations will also be available to share their experiences during the event. Esteemed organisations like Harmony AAC, Astral Informatics Pvt. Ltd., Saint Gobain and The Global Marketing, etc. have extended the sponsorship support to make the event successful. Participants from various esteemed organizations have registered as delegates for the Training Program.

The programme is convened by Dr. R. V. Ralegaonkar, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering & Dr. (Mrs.) A. R. Dongre, Professor, Department of Architecture and Planning under the guidance of Dr V.A.Mhaisalkar, Professor, Department of Civil Engineering and Dr. N .S. Chaudhari, Director, VNIT.
