VNIT organizes two-day training programme on ‘Building Sustainability and Retrofitting’

The Industry Institute Interaction Cell (I-I-I-C) of VNIT organized a two-day training programme on “Building Sustainability and Retrofitting” on November 28 & 29, 2014. Around 20 organizations and over 70 delegates attended the programme. The programme covered more than 10 technical and commercial sessions.

The two-day event covered various aspects including sustainable retrofit measures from architectural perspectives, sustainable construction materials like recycled products and energy efficient glass, water and waste water management techniques, municipal solid waste management, energy auditing & retrofit measures with several case studies.

The LEED/GRIHA certified consultants and industry experts from the participating organizations shared their experiences during the event. Organizations like Harmony AAC, Astral Informatics Pvt. Ltd., Saint Gobain, Pyramid Group of companies and the Global Marketing have extended the sponsorship support to make the event successful.

The programme was organized by Dr R V Ralegaonkar, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering & Dr. (Mrs.) A R Dongre, Professor, Department of Architecture and Planning under the guidance of Dr V A Mhaisalkar, Professor, Department of Civil Engineering and Dr N S Chaudhari, Director, VNIT. Dr. Tapan Chakrabarty, Chair Professor, VNIT offered by Maharashtra Pollution Control Board was the chief guest for the inaugural function. Dr. G P Singh, Director In-Charge, guest of honor and Dr. S S Bhat, Associate Dean, I-I-I-C was also present during the inauguration.
